A cast-iron pump assembly originating from a power station, mounted on a base and incorporating a vertical pipe section, flanged connections, valves, a handwheel and gauge. Its tall column-like construction, exposed mechanical components and dense pipework create a powerful sculptural-industrial presence. The green-toned paintwork displays extensive signs of use, paint loss, oxidation and areas of rust. A total of five similar, individually catalogued objects are available. They can be used separately or combined to form a striking group or repetitive mechanical installation. The black base forms part of the object’s installation.
